In October 2016 Ethnosport and the concept behind it became subject of an academic seminar in Germa-ny for the first time. The two cultural anthropologists Malte Wulfinghoff and Robin Schneegaß designed and conducted the practice-related seminar “Ethnosport” for the winter term 2016/17 at the department of social and cultural anthropology of the Eberhard Karls-University in Tübingen.
WikiLeaks published information on the UNESCO convention on traditional games blocked by the USA. As a result, the importance of preserving traditional games was only mentioned in the minutes of the 33rd General Conference of UNESCO in 2005.

Atmanovskiy pugilism (traditional games) was awarded a diploma of the National Award in the field of event tourism “Russian Event Awards – 2015”. The ceremony was held at Korston hotel in Kazan.

The journal also informs about this custom as it is celebrate in Emmanouel Pappas village, a suburb of Sérres, a city in Central Macedonia, Greece.
At the end of last week, the first seminar of the Traditional Games and Ethnosport Federation of Russia under the name ‘Traditional games and holidays’ was held in the Russian State House of Folk Art Federation.
