Vilnius Ethnosport Challenge 2018

The fourth tournament of the World Series Ethnosport Challenge took place in Vilnius at the State Track and Field Arena of Physical Culture and Sport Department of Lithuania.

The Vilnius Ethnosport Challenge 2018 organized by World Ethnosport, World Strongmen Federation, Lithuanian Traditional Wrestling Federation, and Lithuanian Strongmen Federation.

In the competitions of the Vilnius Ethnosport Challenge 2018 took part more than 100 participants of traditional games of 5th countries. Live broadcasting on the DELFI News Agency website watched by over 3 000 spectators. Now video posted on Youtube.

Strongman challenge made an athletes of Lithuania team: Dainius Repsys, Mindaugas Jaras, Mindaugas Zalimas and Vitalijus Grizanauskas. This challenge took an athletes of the World Ethnosport team: Denys Berezhnyk (Ukraine), Didzis Zarins (Latvia), Maris Krievelis (Estonia) and Viktar Kulik (Belarus).

Ristynes traditional wrestling challenge made an athletes of Lithuania team: Alex Molodeckiy, Augustinas Seniauskas, Mantas Labalaukis and Tomas Paskalucas. This challenge took an athletes of the World Ethnosport team: Andris Ozolins-Jzols (Latvia), Artur Avramidi (Ukraine), Artur Dubov (Estonia) and Yahor Nizhibitsky (Belarus).

The winner of the Vilnius Ethnosport Challenge 2018 is a team of Lithuania with a score 5:1. Dainius Repsys from Lithuania win in a strongmen tournament, with a two out of four exercises – barrels holding and barrels race. Didzis Zarins from Latvia won of giant wood log 115 kg lift. Mindaugas Jaras from Lithuania won in the final pull push exercise. Augistinas Seniauskas win in ristynes traditional wrestling tournament.

Main organizer Vilnius Ethnosport Challenge 2018 is Arthuras Vileita, President of the Lithuanian Traditional Wrestling Federation. The World Ethnosport was represented by Vladislav Redkin (Latvia), Vice-president and Secretary General of the World Strongmen Federation, and Gintautas Vileita (Lithuania), Council member and President of the International Federation of Belt Wrestling Styles.

Official MC and co-organizer of Vilnius Ethnosport Challenge 2018 is Zidrunas Savickas (Lithuania) – President of the Lithuanian Strongmen Federation, four-time World\’s Strongest Man, eight-time winner of the Arnold Strongman Classic.

Honored guest of the Vilnius Ethnosport Challenge 2018 was Leonid Taranenko (Belarus), Chairman of the Belarus Strongmen Federation, Olympic Champion in weightlifting, still unbeatable world record of 266 kg in the clean and jerk (1988, Canberra).
