Aleksey Kylasov, President of the Traditional Games and Ethnosport Federation of Russia, and Farhad Tolu Kian, President of the Zurkhaneh Sports Federation, signed a memorandum of understanding and exchanged souvenirs.
The signing took place at the cultural office of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Russian Federation. Hossein Tabatabaei, Cultural Attaché, who was present at the signing, noted the importance of establishing the act of cooperation between the two influential non-governmental organizations to strengthen the friendship and cultural ties between Iran and Russia.
Aleksey Kylasov, President of the Traditional Games and Ethnosport Federation of Russia, informed about the need to build connections of the Caucasian peoples who have Indo-Iranian roots, with Iran, in order to preserve and revive the game traditions. He thanked the Zurkhaneh Sport Federation for their presentation at the IX Festival of the traditional wrestling of Russian peoples.
Farhad Tolu Kian, President of the Zurkhaneh Sports Federation, pledged readiness to receive a delegation of the peoples of the Caucasus at the beginning of next year in Tehran, to share experiences in the field of scientific and practical conferences and workshops. He expressed confidence that the Iranian traditional zurkhaneh complex will serve the dialogue of the cultures as well as continuity of the historical ties.
