President of World Ethnosport Alexey Kylasov held an official meeting with the coordinator of the UNESCO / Tencent Open Digital Library on Traditional Games Project Mrs. Qingyi Zeng, UNESCO Beijing National Professional Officer Communication and Information Sector.
The meeting was held at the headquarters of the General Association of Asia-Pacific Sports Federations (GAAPSF) in the presence of Ma Venguang, President of the GAAPSF, Jackie Young, Head of the European Representation Office of GAAPSF, and Vladislav Redkin, Vice-President of the World Ethnosport.
During the meeting, the parties expressed mutual interest in cooperation and informed about current activities. Ms. Zeng reported on the final stage of the pilot project of the UNESCO / Tencent Open Digital Library on Traditional Games with the participation of six countries — Bangladesh, Brazil, Greece, Kenya, Mongolia and Morocco. Alexey Kylasov informed the meeting participants about the beginning of the work of UNESCO experts on the topic “Traditional Games and Sports of the Interactive Atlas of Cultural Interactions along the Silk Road”, which took place on December 4-5, 2018 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. The sides agreed that the interaction of both interactive projects could be developed through the exchange of information and agreed to continue contacts after consultations with UNESCO.
Ma Venguang suggested using the GAAPSF as a permanent platform for interaction, in which the committee of traditional sports and games is headed by Alexey Kylasov, an UNESCO expert and President of the World Ethnosport.
